Men’s Rites of Passage – Ireland 2025
For millennia, cultures across the world have guided men through rites of passage, marking the transition from one stage of life to another. Though the rituals and traditions differ, the essence remains the same: dying to what was, to step fully into what is next.
In today’s world of speed, distraction, and disconnection, many men never experience an intentional rite of passage. They move through life without being witnessed, without being challenged, without ever fully stepping into the depths of their own soul’s journey.
At Illuman Ireland, we carry forward the Men’s Rites of Passage (MROP), a five-day experience rooted in the tradition of Men As Learners and Elders (M.A.L.E.s)—a process that has initiated thousands of men worldwide. Through ritual, drumming, fire, silence, small circles, solo time in the wilderness, and sacred teaching, we invite men into the deep inner work that changes us from the inside out.
You will be held within a safe and intentional container by a group of initiated Elders who have freely committed to walking this path with you. Over these days, you will sit in a brotherhood of men, some of whom may become lifelong friends—men who will walk alongside you and support you in the journey ahead.
Every man is unique and worthy of dignity and respect. The MROP invites you to discover not just how you appear to the world, but who you truly are beneath the surface. It is a time to step more fully into yourself, to wrestle with what life has given you, and to uncover the deeper strength and wisdom that only comes through initiation.
Life wounds all of us. Yet through our wounds, we can find healing, wisdom, and the path forward. Our strength together helps us become better men—more rooted, more compassionate, and more prepared to face life’s responsibilities and challenges.
The Men’s Rites of Passage are open to all men, regardless of age, race, sexuality, ethnicity, or faith background (or none). If you have a physical disability that may require accommodations, please contact us for further information.
