Join a Council Circle or Learn How to Lead One Yourself
Your spiritual journey was never meant to be made alone. Growth happens in communities where we can support, encourage, and challenge one another—where we feel safe to be our true and vulnerable selves. If you have ever wished for a circle of like-minded men to travel with you on this journey but there isn’t an existing group in your area, we encourage you to consider starting one of your own. This fall, Illuman will be launching training courses for anyone who wants to start and lead a circle of men committed to traveling what we call the Journey of Illumination together.
This course will teach you how to lead men in the Way of Council, a communal contemplative practice based on listening and speaking from the heart within a small circle of men, as well as a rich array of other small-group spiritual practices. More than this, however, you will also be equipped to create Council circles that are committed to doing life together over the long haul—filled with brothers and friends you can turn to and rely on through thick and thin.
We will be offering four options for these four-week training courses this fall, starting in late September. Registration will open soon. If you would like to know more about the course, or if you would simply like to get plugged into an existing or newly forming Council circle, please fill out this brief survey.
If you are already part of an existing Council group, please fill out the survey as well to tell us more about it. We want to get a more accurate picture of how many men are or are not already plugged into an Illuman Council or other kinds of small groups.
