Soularize 2020: The Masculine Path to Healing held virtually from October 15-18, 2020

Join Illuman and Fr. Richard Rohr as we explore the Masculine Path to Healing!

For many men the wounding of their souls is not generally recognized until midlife. The carrying of unresolved grief, internalized shame and guilt, loneliness, personal family traumas, intergenerational issues and societal pressures all serve to weigh men down in disparaging ways. The wounds of individuals spiral outward, leading to larger wounds in society such as racism, toxic patriarchy, and our ecological crisis–which in turn, further wound individuals in a negative feedback loop.

The injury to a man’s soul, and the wounds of the world, cry out for healing, and Illuman offers a pathway through. We are men transforming men, through a Power greater than ourselves. Using the ancient tools of nature, ritual, image, storytelling and council we will help one another reclaim the soul’s wisdom and the gift of joy. Bearing gifts that often come straight from the wound itself, we then join sisters and brothers, as healing agents in a hurting world.

This year, our Virtual Soularize offering will be held from Thursday, October 15 through Sunday, October 18. Sprinkled within those days, we will have numerous opportunities to connect with Brothers and all sessions will be recorded in case you can’t make the live offering. We are continuing to develop the program but below are some highlights:

1. As with other Soularize gatherings, we will experience rituals, stories, images, council circles and nature wanderings. We will be inviting men to experience the “wild” of wherever they live, whether it is an urban oasis or the high desert landscape.
2. Live sessions will occur within the timeframe of 10am-9pm Eastern/7:00am-6:00pm Pacific Time each day.  The opening session will be on Thursday, October 15 at 7pm Eastern/4pm Pacific, and the closing session will end by 2:30pm Eastern/11:30am Pacific on Sunday, October 18. We will be limiting the amount of time we are on Zoom each day.  Please see the current schedule below for specific information.
3. We will be joined by Fr. Richard Rohr and he will be speaking to the participants.
4. We are creating opportunities for men to gather with their Chapters and Regions during Soularize.
5. We will provide embodiment offerings including Contemplative Sits and Broga (Brothers in Yoga).

11-2p Plenary session including opening, 30 min. presentation, nature wander by participants on their own, Council Circles (total time online- 1.5-2 hours)
4-5p Live Breakouts (one 1-hour session), Topics are to be determined. We will also have pre-recorded breakouts that men will be able to watch anytime.
5-6:15p Plenary session on the Divine Feminine and Patriarchy
7:00-9p Conversation with Richard Rohr and Joel Blunk

Saturday, October 17th
10-10:30a Contemplative Sit
11-2p Plenary session including opening, 30 min. presentation, nature wander by participants on their own, Council Circles (total time online- 1.5-2 hours)
2:30-3p Chapter gatherings to meet and visit with men from your area (all participants welcome)
4-6p Live Breakouts (Two sessions, one hour each), Topics are to be determined.  We will also have pre-recorded breakouts that men will be able to watch anytime.
