Each evening at Oracle 2022, our leaders gathering held in Potosi, Missouri, we gathered around “Grandfather Fire” to offer gifts of poetry, story, drumming, movement, and song. The following was offered by Wisdom Elder emeritus, Glenn Siegel.

Zoom ghosted brothers
Eager for live, embodied connection
Gathered from all directions

Longings thwarted too long.

Our travel origins
brought the four direction Winds
to envelop us
Earth to ground and center
Water to cleanse and open our flow
And Fire to thaw our numbness into presence.

Circle energy brought us into gratitude
Truth telling on holy ground.

Grief and Pain to reveal our Love
Anger, our passion for Justice
Emptiness to shape our Longing
Fear as a pathway for Courage
And Shame…

All could be exposed and released

Being held by loving witnesses
Our tender, masculine intimacy
Naturally emerged

Long dormant through an endless viral winter
We came back to life
Wholeheartedly, raucously
Drumming, Dancing, Singing, Laughing
As the Sacred Fool graced us
Lampooned us
Igniting our wild creativity

And as we poured out offerings in reverence
Grandfather Fire, messenger from the sun
responded in fits and farts to teach us

Oh, such a wise Trickster!

Surprised
Moved
Inspired

Good days to do great things
For you and for me
