Joseph
Presence Seeker, Present Keeper
The journey begins always with that one step
A step along the way
A dance along the edge of uncertainty
The journey thru foreign lands has been unforeseen, long and unexpected
Filled with absences, loneliness, solitude, questioning, dark nights
Yet you have continued on, seeking, searching, praying
Wandering…
At times, unmoored, adrift
But following a star, on a kingly quest
The longing, a presence in itself
And a present, a reminder am I, of a goodness inside
That is unearned, undeserved, unknown
You Child of God
Take off your sandals
Shake off the dust
You’ll need not travel that way again
Joseph: a reminder, a beacon, a signpost, a respite, a refuge, a companion, a guide
No room at D’Inn?
Don’t believe those who cannot forgive
But believe in that which searches hearts
And hears our sighs and groans
Take off your shoes, welcome
Joseph: there is room at D’Inn
There is a room that is only yours
at the Dwelling Inn
Come inside
Close the door
Your inner room awaits: the InnDwelling, in you
Take off your shoes
Holy is the ground you dwell on, the road you traveled on
You searched everywhere, through hill and vale
Only to find inside you all along, musk deer
A dwelling for all the days of your life
An absence filled only by the presence of the essence
You are enough, you are sufficient, you are loved, forgiven
No burning bush, no wind no thunder, no quaking earth
A soft voice, heard when only ears can listen
A room inside is here, close the door, take off your shoes
Dwell in me, and I in you, at D’Inn of the InDwelling
So you may all the days of your life
Find a room always, waiting
Come inside
Open, available, waiting, ready, willing to run out and greet you, where you are
I mean, look at yourself, what else could I do?
What could I have done to ever deserve such faith, dear Joseph?
The Chisel of Life, sculpting the Marble of Experience, each stroke deeply cut?
Each releasing sighs and groans of a heart’s true longing and desire
There is a room for you at D’Inn
For you seek not to tarry
Not to loiter
Not to squander or delay
You seek to dwell, to absorb, to rest – rest here at D’Inn
Grow from the root of Jesse
Dance naked and be not embarrassed
Do not cling
Shake off the dust
Discard the wineskin
Put on the tunic
Embrace Emmanuel
Resurrected
You lovely, mighty, Child of God
by an Illuman man
