Illuman hosted a sponsor booth at the Wild Goose Festival in Harmony, North Carolina again this past July. There, we were able to sit down for an interview with Mike Morrell, a curator of contemplative and community experiences, co-author with Richard Rohr of The Divine Dance: The Trinity and Your Transformation, and an initiated Illuman man (New Jersey, 2022). During our conversation, Mike offered an alternative to the popular term “deconstruction,” instead using the stages of composting as a metaphor for how we might approach major life transitions in a way that honors and incorporates what has gone before as “fertilizer” rather than simply throwing it all out. Mike also introduced a series of contemplative practices that can facilitate the various stages of this composting process in our lives.
